In 2012, after completing a Masters degree in Contemporary Performance Culture, Jo joined Birds Eye View Film Festival (BEV) as Press, Marketing & PR Manager. BEV’s remit was to showcase the outstanding contribution of women filmmakers to cinema with an annual film festival at the BFI and year-round training, events and screenings. The festival has since closed, but Jo continues to facilitate the organisation’s training programme, Filmonomics, which is aimed at established women directors, writers and producers.
Jo is also Programme Director of the London Short Film Festival, where she produces and curates film programmes & projects for the festival that takes place every January at the ICA and Picturehouse Cinemas. She freelances for festivals across London, and has worked as a Producer and Marketing Consultant for East End Film Festival, London MexFest and UCL Festival of the Arts.
Jo grew up on Shooting Stars, The Fast Show and Alan Partridge. She likes to play ball and be silly. She’s passionate about film, the arts and equality.
